The Center for Home Education  was born out of its creators need for an organized and purposeful organization working to improve the situation of the families who home educate in Estonia. We have concentrated our efforts on parents who choose to home educate but we also try to support the families that live with home education what ever their reason. The statue of our non-profit organization was fixed on 22nd of January, 2006, organization was registered officially on 20th of October 2006 and we have worked together since the summer of 2005.

 

From 31st of July until August the 1st 2010 we celebrated our fifth summer gathering

 

In the summer of 2006 we held the first home education conference in Estonia and about 60 people attended. The second home education conference took place  on the  9th of June 2007 at Lasila, in West-Viru County.  We are grateful to everyone who helped make this conference a success.

On 26th-27th of July 2008 the first home education summerdays were held at Pangodi in Tartu County. Summerday 2009 took place on 15th of August  at Uulu kämping at Pärnu County, Tahkuranna. We discussed issues concerning temperament, math, starting a herbarium and experiences in home education.

For those parents wanting to offer home education to their children to develop a sense of confidence, it is very important to know that we are not alone with this wish. We hope that people who are already living with home education or are still only dreaming of it will contact us so we can support and help each other.
